Digital identity refer to how people can view who we are and what we do or represent, in an online or electronic environment. We have to constantly ask ourselves if what is known about us online is positive and won’t harm our reputation. Our students can also say bad things about us online and we need to know how to deal with this as well as help them to become responsible digital citizens. In this exhibit you will explore a few online teacher profiles and decide if you would like them as part of your Professional Learning Community. Feel free to consult your Module 8 resource folder for articles and videos that can help you understand this exhibit.
Study the following 4 different profiles and comment on the value of having the person as part of your Professional Learning Community (PLC) in the comments below. As you do this think about:
• Is this person authentic?
• Will you follow/friend/connect to/like them and why?
• What can you learn from them that will help you grow as a lifelong learner?

ReplyDeleteIts very important to make your online profile as professional sound as possible to earn trust from the online community.
I Agree Obert. All employment agencies google their candidates before they invite them for interviews. If you do not feature- you could be jeopardising your chances severely. Or your students can post things about you. so it is important that you are "out there"

ReplyDeleteProfile A&C are the ones to follow, because they are authentic with clear profile background to follow as far as ICT Intergration, Curriculum,
Profile D not to follow, not authentic at all because it promotes drug usage
Profile A and C are authentic and I think I can follow them. Their profiles are populated and I know that they are involved in things that are constructive.
ReplyDeleteI would not follow profile B& D. When one hides his face it appears as if he/she is hiding something. Also if one has dealings that are not constructive, it becomes difficult to be a friend of such a person.

ReplyDeleteProfiles A &C are authentic because they have photos and background profiles. Profiles B&D are not authentic because ther"s no information on people.
ReplyDeleteProfile A you can rely on him he seems to be a dedicated teacher, who wants to help others.
